Ilustration Concering Books Postcards from a Rock and Roll Tour
As the 'second drummer' for the Moody Blues, Gordy Marshall is well known for his illustrious musical talent and career that spans over several decades. 'Writer/author' should now be added to his list of accomplishments. Each chapter of this book gives the reader a snapshot view of life on the road while touring with a world class band, The Moody Blues. I rarely laugh out loud while reading most books but I simply couldn't stop with this one.
However without giving too much away, it's important to note that this is certainly not just a light-hearted book. There are many thought provoking 'moment to pause' passages as well.
Gordy Marshall's writing style is reminiscent of Bill Bryson and Garrison Keillor. But make no mistake, Gordy offers his own unique and special way of sharing his road warrior tales with the reader.
I highly recommend this book!

Postcards from a Rock and Roll Tour is simply a must read. Once I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. At 2:30 in the morning I was still reading the book. Pick it up, and see what you think. Try it you'll like it! Funny, serious, and factual! Truly the life of a rock and roller, rock on!I enjoyed reading Gordy's story very much. He is funny and has great stories about being on the road with the Moody Blues. Highly recommend!

I actually read this back in March, following the Moody Blues Cruise - which I enjoyed immensely. You know it's a good read when you get to the end and immediately think "When's Volume 2 coming out?"This was a nice insight into the life of a touring musician, written in an easy relaxed style which was entertaining and engrossing at the same time. I liked the concept of breaking it down by location and using Postcards instead of Chapters. I would recommend this to everyone!

Gordy Marshall's "Postcards From a Rock and Roll Tour" is an insightful and entertaining book about touring with The Moody Blues, in America, England and Holland in 2010. Marshall was the second drummer -- working with Grame Edge -- in the legendary band for nearly 25 years. This isn't a tell-all type of book. He respects the privacy of his bandmates and traveling companions. It's more of his observations of various cities, venues, and life on the road. Gordy makes the most of this travels,
If you've ever seen the Moody Blues in concert, you need to read this book. If you haven't seen the Moody Blues in concert, put that on your To Do list right away, and read this book also. Gordy is really the high energy guy in the band (and they've got a few), and if there's one thing made clear in this book, it's that the electricity we're getting in the audience is bouncing back onto the band times 10. Gordy brings to life Jackson Browne's The Loadout. There are some really funny stories
