Glen Soloskys debut novel, The Abominable Sruvius, is quite an imaginative tale. The opening chapter caught my attention right away. It endeared me to Bergey, the main character, with his amazing ability to solve problems that others could not. His plight really pulled me through the whole story and kept me wanting to read. Most of the characters were well fleshed out, but some of them were rather lacking in personality. This characters were mostly secondary, though, and did not impact the
I highly recommend this book-whether it's for a young adult or an adult. Glen Solosky weaves a story that draws the reader in. I vividly could picture the characters and settings. Glen's way of telling a story is magical--the twists and turns are not what you might expect in the plot. I'm starting to read it again. Thank you.This book is an absolutely fantastic read! Very well woven plot line with engaging scenes and well-fleshed out (and very likable!) characters, all round. Though it's primarily a middle grade/young adult novel, both my son and I have read it, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse oneself into a fantasy world unlike any other. Honestly, a five-star novel. Truly worth a read!
