Ack where to start?OK I wanted so much to like Layla but I found her to be dishonest, cruel, very selfish and just a little too self absorbed althoughed at some points she was portrayed as always thinking of others. This seemed too faceted and I got frustrated by this. I'm sorry but I don't find stringing someone along a nice trait at all especially when they think the suns shines out of their arse. Tormented or not it is not a side I like reflected by anybody, that makes people no more thanHmmmm... Not my favorite book by far,the first 3/4 kinda drug along. Normally, I always root for the bad boy, but honestly Jared's behavior set off all my alarms and I found myself rooting for the Rockstar (which I thought his character could have been much more intriguing if she hadn't had made him out to be such a goody goody..I mean really, what rocker just sits back and waits patiently for the girl to land in his lap without putting himself in a few risky situations?!?) I was undeniably in love with the book from the first chapter to the last. This is by far one of my most favorite books of the year and I cannot wait to read the next. Nope, not for me. I've read 25% and have yet to connect to any of the characters. I don't get Layla at all, and her relationship with Jared feels forced and rushed. The first 50% of this story drove me nuts; near the point of giving up. But the last 50% made up for all of it.
