Critique Of Books Batman: Earth One, Volume 2 (Batman: Earth One #2)

Bruce Wayne is not Batman. He doesn't know forensics, detective work, how to help people... This is really refreshing to read. He doesn't know what to do, he guesses and is basically messing up everything. There are many characters that fans of Batman know: Harvey Dent (with a nice spin) Croc, Catwoman and Riddler. Every one of them has a unique spin. I liked Dent one the best. Croc feels like a NPC character in the middle of the quest and Riddler is just Riddler. The story flows nicely. Pacing

Pretty good Batman comic for the most part, but I really hated The Riddler's character design in this. He looks like that shirtless dude from No Vacancy in the Jack Black movie "School of Rock".

A good follow up to volume 1. What I like about it is it feels different from versions of Batman we've seen before but is still Batman. From Alfred being little more hard nose and less classical English butler to Harvey Dent having more serious anger issues before his unfortunate turn. Some of the changes were a little predictable, like Two-Face, but the Riddler being at the centre of the plot makes this a fun batman book. I also really liked the ending. I did not see that coming.

Again, great art and good story. The Dents are interesting, as is Waylon/ Killer Croc. I wanna know where Joker and Harley are though! This is a good story, with again just a few departures from the original, but pretty good depatures regardless. Where's volume 3???

Another excellent volume of this series by Geoff Johns. Takes everything we know about Batman and tweaks it just enough to make it new and exciting. Outstanding book.

First, let's get a few of these out of the way:My point being that when I quickly realized that The Riddler was going to be this volume's Big Bad I had some serious misgivings based on where they have gone with the character in the past.So imagine my delight when I discovered that Johns has put together the single best Riddler story I've ever read, with a solid guest star from good ole Killer Croc.I won't give away too much, but the volume carries on in its "What if Batman were real?" vein of

Loved it! Got excited that i finally correctly guessed one of nygma's riddles. (they may just be getting easier i dunno) Just as amazing as the first volume it's still has humour and a great plot and the art is amazing just the little things they add like the graffiti on the walls or fox' guys kicking over the tables and headbutting the desk in frustration over bruce wayne's demands. It's too good, go read it.
