Rendition Supposing Books Legacy of the Claw (Animas #1)
To twelve-year-old Bailey Walker, kin means more than just family. It means being a part of the Animas bond, a harmonious link that connects humans and animals, and guides everything in his world. But Bailey hasn't found his kin yet, and without an Animas, he's destined to be an outsider-or worse, lose his mind entirely. So when he's accepted into the prestigious Fairmount Academy, he's determined to Awaken to his Animas once and for all, even if it's a measly worm. But once there, Bailey can't resist the pull of the dark mysteries surrounding the kingdom. A bear has been viciously attacked on school grounds, and when he and his friends discover signs of a ferocious predator in the woods surrounding campus, he knows something's out there, something dangerous. And Fairmount isn't the only place where darkness is brewing. In the capital city, a new leader preaches that humans must assert power over their kin, enslave them instead of living as one.
Bailey can't shake the feeling that the root of the unrest, and the key to his Awakening, lies in an old riddle entwined around an even older prophecy-a prophecy that may reveal the truth about the rightful king of Aldermere. And Bailey may be the only one who can unravel them. The capital's dark forces will stop at nothing to prevent the prophecy from coming true. If they succeed, the Animas bond will be in peril. Can Bailey help protect the Animas bond while still trying to awaken to his own? In this first installment of the gripping ANIMAS series, the battle is just beginning.

Pretty nice! Ending was great, but I feel like things started off a little bit slowly. Still, not a bad story. :)This book was absolutely amazing, so many twists and turns and of course PLOT TWISTS! I was amazed at the end and it left me hanging, and now I have to wait for the next book to come out!! Ugh! I love the idea of people being connected to animals and having a magical bond with them. And I read Spirit animals as well, but I found this book to be exceptionally better. In terms of Writing, and Plot. But Besides the point! I really enjoyed the mix of action, fantasy, Political war, and more! I
Bailey Walker is excited to be heading to Fairmount Academy, the most prestigious school in the kingdom. And he's also terrified that his secret will get out. In a world where everyone is kin to some kind of animal---Horse, Dog, Bear, etc---Bailey has not Awakened to his kin. He might not even have one. Fairmount offers more than a chance for an education for Bailey. One of the professors used to be famous for his work with the animal-human bonds, and Bailey is hoping for a miracle. But a dark
It took me a little while to become fully engrossed in this book, but once I got to know the many characters and the plot started to progress more, I found this to be a really interesting story. It might start out trying to be Harry Potter-like in its school setting, but this steampunk-esque world with the unique animal bonds that exist within it has its own unique story to tell. Though I may have predicted some of the plot twists, there were others that took me pleasantly by surprise. I look
Fantastic! I like this world with humans bonded for life with some creature or other. It's so novel and refreshing... Wait. Ah, yes, there was that strange story with humans and their daemons, which makes much more sense technically, but who cares. And there is that lost king with regrettable memory gaps... Anyway, this story about yet another prophesied chosen one, who behaves stupidly at every turn and destined to save the world, is so interesting. I'm still not sure what role Harry Potter, I
I'm going to tell you all something very important--THIS IS A RIP OFF OF HARRY POTTERI will explain properly, but rest assured, if you have read the Harry Potter series, this will be suspiciously similar. Really, it is Harry Potter but with animal bonds instead of magic.Bailey Walker starts out as an orphan found basically on a doorstep (sound familiar?). He gets accepted into this prestigious school for Animas bonding (magic school), where he has to take a very long train ride (Hogwarts
It took me awhile to get into this book because the first three-fourths of it was very slow, and frankly unnecessary. I would have liked more about Bailey's classes and his training with Tremelo. And Bailey's kin was very obvious since the beginning of the chapters had a pictures of tigers. There were some plot twists that I didn't see coming (Trent Melore!) and some that I guessed right away (Bailey's Velyn kin)But besides all that, Legacy of the Claw was a fun read and enjoyable. I'll
