Write-Up Of Books NIV Study Bible, Personal Size
I decided to update my 1984 NIV. This one is awesome with all the pictures. Looking forward to seeing how much the notes are updated.mm already see some language differences in matthew...

I enjoy reading God's Word. I read through it twice in a year, in addition to my daily bible studies. My goal is to finish it 3 times this year. The NIV is my preferred translation

Take a closer look. The new edition is easy to read, but I find that it is not as accurate as the first two editions. By "accurate" I mean that it is written in such a way that the reader can draw conclusions that are not made available in the older translations. In their effort to make the bible contemporary, the interpreters have sacrificed accuracy.

I will never really finish reading this, as I refer to and study it often.

This is not a review of the Bible. After all, what right can I possibly have to review the Bible? No, the way this really works is that I let the Bible review me. How deeply am I hiding it in my heart? How closely am I following its precepts? Unfortunately, there is no way that I could rate myself anywhere close to 5 stars. Yes, I am growing, but I've still got a long ways to go. This is now my 66th time reading the Bible through cover to cover. Each time I find that there is more to learn. More

Great book to read - a must for everybody...

I'm no Christian, but this was a great introduction to the Bible for me. The illustrations, explanations, and NIV translation in general made this easily understandable. I feel that I can understand more about the beliefs of Christians in general. It's a really beautiful book with eye-catching illustrations and goes very much into depth over some of the translations. A bit hard on the eyes, though. For a first bible, I would totally recommend this book, or even for reference in your home
