This was super cute, and just exactly what I was in the mood to read after this tough week.I don't think this fits in too well with the middle grade genre, though. Mother Goose constantly talks about hangovers, for instance, and her life of crime. But even without that, most kids will have no idea who any of these historical figures are, and so much of the book will be lost on them. I thought this book was hilarious, but it does seem targeted for a bit of an older audience than the rest of the

In Chris Colfer's "Adventures from the Land of Stories: The Mother Goose Diaries", we get a glimpse into the life of Mother Goose and her life over the centuries. The book itself doesn't start off all that badly with the explanation of how she became Mother Goose, but then denigrates into chaos with random diary entries from 14th century England through 2015. The book itself isn't horribly bad in keeping to the character, but the events she is involved in seem farfetched even by this series

I loved reading a book in Mother Goose's perspective, because she is one of my favorite LOS characters. Toward the end, though, especially in the LGBTQ part, I felt like Colfer is trying to impose his political beliefs on children using the influence of a lovable character. Regardless of what side I stand on in political issues, I don't think they are appropriate for children, and it is not what I signed up for when I picked up the book.

Never got past the forward. Didn't like the attitude of the author. Bit full of himself, or what?

It's our opinion..that's all. We got the audio book out of the library. Fairy tales redone are fun. It started out sort of cute....but we actually put the wrong disc in to start...and as we're listening I have to think about explaining to my kids what the LGBT community is? Because Mother Goose is rallying with them? No thanks, this isn't for us. We didn't finish it...I'm just putting this out here for folks who are thinking they might want to pop this in for your 7-13 year old...you may want to

A wonderful diary showing the history in Mother Goose.

This novel takes on Mother Gooses diaries over the centuries showcasing where shes been and who shes met. The reader gets to go on a bit of an adventure as we read her entries from falling in love with Leonardo Da Vinci, to being friends with Amelia Earhart. The novel was like a little history lesson as Colfer wrote Mother Gooses life around history and it was done really well. The way he interwove the real history with his own story was very well crafted. At times he did write Mother Goose a
