Commentary Supposing Books Bartholomew's Passage: A Family Story for Advent (Advent Adventures #2)
In hard-to-put-down chapters, this engaging story takes readers through Advent to Christmas as they follow young Bartholomew on his adventures. You will accompany this delightful boy from the time Roman soldiers destroy his village and disperse his family, through his enslavement to a tyrannical master, his escape with Nathan, and his stay at the community of Qumran, to this reunion with his family and the wonderful climax in Bethlehem. Along the way he makes a new friend, Jotham, whom many readers grew to love in "Jotham's Journey.Following each chapter is a spiritual reflection that gives readers an opportunity to respond personally to a spiritual truth embedded in the story. Ideal for individual reading or family devotions.Mention Books During Bartholomew's Passage: A Family Story for Advent (Advent Adventures #2)

Reading it again!!This is an excellent story devotional for advent season! All 3 of our kids absolutely loved it. There are more books in the series and we will be reading another one next advent season. The story is an adventure set in the time just before the birth of Jesus. Children learn about the way that the Bible was copied and stored, the tyranny of the Romans over the Jewish people, and culture and daily activities of Bible times. There are some parts that are a little scary. The bookThis one was a little disappointing, maybe two and a half stars. After having really enjoyed the first book, Jotham's Journey, and the second, Tabitha's Travels, I had more hopes that this one would include variety of story line and solid devotions for the kids at the end of each section. I was disappointed. BUT, it did point us toward Christ's advent at a time of year when we are tempted to be side tracked. The first book (Jotham) was a real treat and I would recommend it to people with school
This book has sparked a wonderful Advent tradition in my family -- one that I look forward to every year. The Christmas tree is sparkling with crystal ornaments and classic white lights, my mom's Christmas stocking collection is scattered throughout the house -- some on the mantlepiece, some hanging in the windows, the white porcelain nativity set is carefully arranged on the table behind the couch, and the light-up angel is carefully positioned in the front yard. The detailed, hand-crocheted
These are the best books ever. Please look into them
Not as good as Jotham's Journey but yay Cornelius!
My children and I were delighted with this follow up book to Jotham's Journey. It's a wonderful way to slow down and come together throughout the busyness of the Advent season. We're looking forward to reading book #3 next December.
