Light from the Dark
Brilliant and incredibly talented, Christopher (Kit) Auberon wears tragedy as a second skin. Kit is all that's left of a powerful family. Seemingly forgotten he's spent his entire life in seclusion and he likes it that way.
Death threats are a fact of life, but when those threats become real, Micah and Kit are forced to put their differences aside to discover who wants Kit dead. Only to discover that there are monsters in Kit's closet that should never be disturbed.
I really liked this one, what can I say I love me some crazy!
The blurb sound worryingly similar to L.A. Witt's book The Walls of Troy. I'll give this a try, here we go!March 13 2015Holy crap, there was so much freaking drama in this book, I felt like it was a whole season of "Days of Our Life" or any other soap-opera you can think of. Christ, everybody was related to everybody, they were all uncles and cousins and brothers....but it was all a secret! Once the eye-rolling came, I couldn't stop it.So here's the breakdown to my rating: the book started off
Ms Celeste writes to a formula and that's not necessarily bad; basically you get interesting likeable characters, hot sexual discovery then a drama-llama invasion at around 60%. A few of her books I've loved. Here the characters were likeable but the sexual discovery felt a bit odd, without any tangible chemistry. And it needed a strong connection considering other issues. But they were interesting enough that flaws aside I really enjoyed the story up until that 60% mark, until then it was a
There was a lot going on in this book. Heaps of twists and turns and by the end I was like...and eventually I was just ....I liked the two main characters. Kit/Christian was an emotional basket case at times and Micah was his rock. The romance side was sweet and sexy but the rest of it - meh! (view spoiler)[(Too many he slept with, she slept with, he killed, she married, he married etc etc.) (hide spoiler)]To sum up this book I'd say it was like Beauty & the Beast on the set of Bold &
I was loving this book - a strong 4 - up until the climax, and then...Well, all I can say is info-dump and convenient reveal of characters who weren't remotely alluded to in order to 'solve the mystery.' Not happy.Average between 4 stars for the first 80%, and a 1 star for the last 20. With a slight bump since I really liked Kit.2.5 disappointed stars.
To say this book had me hooked from the get go and then proceeded to reel me in would be an understatement, the reason behind my capture was quite simply the storyline. It made me overlook a few errors and even my dislike of the main characters (though they both grew on me)! The storyline had me tapping my kindle at a rate of knots and even though it was faced paced it didn't flow it was a bumpy ride. And then it wasn't, then i was like 'WHOA........What?.......wait....wtf?!?!? It went from a

Well, that was kinda crazy. Train wreck, cant look away, have to know what happens next crazy. Ok, lets first get this out of the way. So the last Mercy Celeste book I read I hated. I still think about it. That of course made me a little wary about reading something else by her. But, I wanted to read this book from the minute I read the blurb. So, I stopped being a baby and did just that. What a wild and crazy ride. For real.I totally enjoyed it and totally didnt all at the same time.
